im assuming this is the right place for this..

so...GW is getting really dull now so i have been browsing other online games and eve caught my eye.

i kinda like the fact u can be a pirate/miner ect ive read the reviews but im after real ppl opinions

if u play or have played the game if you could post the PROs and CONs of the game

EVE has 2 week free trial, so you can try it out first.

It is pretty deep and interesting, but travelling in the game seemed like a pain to me. Basically flying around with autopilot on, with much nothing to do than AFK...

When i tried this game, i found it lacked alot of player interest for me. It got me bored real quick, the learning curb is a bitch.....and you cant really "control" your ship like you would want to in a fight.

I never liked the game, plus its P2P so screw it.

I found it about as enjoyable as a root canal with a good anaesthetic - mildly annoying, kinda dull, but it did make the time fly by. It seemed to encourage me to go AFK...with the time it took to learn skills, I would have to leave the game running while I slept.

On a more positive note...ummm...it did make the time fly by.

Try the demo, though...it seems to have a decent-sized fan base.

Actually, you didn't have to leave the game on to learn the skills

The 'learning times' are measured in real time, not time spent ingame, so you could train an 8 hour skill overnight, without needing to have the client open.

The trick was, even if your account could have 3 characters, you could only train ONE skill at a time, on whole account. So you couldn't really train up any alts without gimping the progress on your main, the system really favors having multiple accounts

Well, in my opinion, EVE is a great game. It has very few of the silly little kids because the learning curve is pretty high. Everything is legal, such as, for instance, joining a corporation, moving up in the ranks, and then stealing everything they own and running. The combat isn't like flying an airplane, I would really recommend you try one or more of the two week trials, and read the forums for advice on your character creation, since if you do it right, it saves you a lot of time on training some skills. Amarr ftw! Oh yeah, and about the travel times, once you know what you're doing and set up a base, you can pretty much stay in your home system or make 1-2 jumps for buying stuff if that is how you decide to play.
